Goal and Vision

Our goal is to see everyone in the church come to a place where they have a lifestyle of worship and a knowledge and understanding of the power of praise. Praise and Worship is the tip of the spear in Spiritual battles and in dealing with troubles and circumstances that may come up in our lives. Praise and Worship has been referred to as the prayer that changes everything. Many people only worship when it feels nice or in order to receive something from God. Too often we hear people saying, “I’m too tired, I didn’t feel like it today”. This is the kind of attitude we want to break because when we hold back from praising God we prevent the power and presence of God from entering and operating in our lives. Praise and Worship positions us into a place of peace, protection, blessing and victory. At the moment, the Creative Ministries team are praying that the Holy Spirit would reveal a fresh understanding of the importance of praise and worship to each person.

Why We Exist

We exist to worship God and serve the church.

Structure

Our Creative Ministry Team is made up of:

• Creative Ministry Directors – Roy and Deborah Dunn


• Creative Ministry Leadership Team – Help pray over direction of team and plan for upcoming events etc. This team is made up of our worship leaders, band leaders and AV Director)


• 4 x Music Teams that lead worship on a Sunday morning


• Sound / Media team


• Dance group that operates at different times throughout the year


• Drama group that gets together to prepare for special events


• Media group that help work on video notices for Sunday services


• Christmas Choir that performs at our annual Carols by the River Festival


• Newbies is a group that allows new singers and muso’s a forum to develop their gifts, learn to play with a band and develop the skills necessary for serving God in a worship band. It’s a great night of fun, jamming with other muso’s and learning new songs.


• Creative Ministry Retreat held once a year


• Creative Ministry Worship Night held twice a year to induct new members, get together as a whole team and receive practical, inspiring teaching and training.

Opportunities

There is only one opportunity that exists in the Creative Ministry department and that is for you to have an opportunity to use your God given gift to serve others. God has placed the Creative Ministry leaders in a position to release people into what God has for them and to give people an avenue to use their gifts. But we don’t want you to come with an agenda but as an empty vessel.

Pre-Requisites:

• 3 month regular attendance in church


• Be a worshipper in private times at home as well as in church services


• High level of commitment


• Good competency in your craft as deemed by the Creative Ministry Directors


• A teachable Spirit

Steps to Joining Creative Ministry Team:

1. Attend initial interview for joining Creative Ministry. As part of this we will discuss your personal reasons for wanting to be a part of the team and what opportunities exist to use your gifts.


2. Attend at least 6 Thursday rehearsals over a three month period


3. Attend a Creative Ministries 3 month review interview which will discuss you as a worshipper, your competency in your gifting, attendance and your creative goals and desires.


4. If you have been given a place in the Creative Ministry team, serve with excellence, loyalty and commitment!

Rehearsals are on Thursday nights at 7pm through to 9pm. We begin with a time of worship or short devotion and then we break into groups for some creative workouts! The final hour we use to refine each song for Sunday.
