Worldchangers

Jesus tells us in Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

At Riviera|cc we are committed to outworking this instruction to first reach those in our local community with the gospel and then impact our nation and the nations of the world. We do this through the faithful giving of Worldchangers and the committed hearts of those who call Riviera|cc home.

As a church, we are passionate and committed to seeing God’s love in action in our local region, our country and overseas. For us to outwork this, we are involved in various programs and activities.

locally

We are privileged to meet on GunaiKurnai land and we love to celebrate that culture and our amazing people, one of the ways we do this is through Quarenook, a weekly gathering.

We also run a yearly kids camp Hero's camp for the grade 5 and 6 kids of our local community primary schools. Each child gets to enjoy a weekend of fun and confidence building activities in a safe and self-esteem-building environment.

Our Armoury is a highlight of the week for many. A place for men to come together in fellowship with food to build each other up and encourage one another along. We also have ongoing projects for the blokes to be apart of.

Our annual Community Carols Festival event is loved by our locals, and we get to celebrate all things Christmas with food, games, performances and a festival. It is an iconic event for the East Gippsland social calendar and a highlight for us as a Church.

We also proudly support Teen Challenge, which exists to breathe hope and life into the hopelessness caused by drug dependency and the chaos that surrounds it.

Precious women is a holistic organisation that recognises the value of women, and offers support and safety training for women in Cambodia involved in the sex industry whilst also providing pathways for retraining and counselling for women.  The organisation has great success in caring for women practically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually and it is a privilege to facilitate its work through financial support.

Riviera|cc is pleased to financially and prayerfully support Centre 22 and Centre 36 in Transform Cambodia – Schools for 200 of Cambodia’s poorest kids to attend local school for half a day (school day hours are only half days) and attend a Transform Centre for half a day.  As part of being a transform kid they are taught a complete curriculum as well as equipped with life skills and built in their confidence of who God made them to be with their God given potential being nurtured and developed. The families are also cared for with monthly rice deliveries, ensuring there is a financial incentive to keep their kids in school.

As a church we commit to the annual overheads for the centre as well as people in the church committing to individual sponsorship of each of the 200 kids in the centre.  The financial support is paired with prayer support to see the next generations of Cambodians fulfil the future God has planned for them in its fullness.
