TITLE: The Progression of Peace 1 - God promises Shalom/Peace through covenant. · Genesis 15:15 (NIV): Now as for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age. 2 - God reveals Himself as Jehovah Shalom. · Judges 6:24 (NIV): So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it [f]The-Lord-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. Galatians 5:22 (NKJV): But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV): Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 3 - The coming of Shalom · Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV): For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, 4 - The Receiving of Shalom · John 14:25-27 (NKJV) says: “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the [g]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 1. Peace is found in rest 2. Pray about everything 3. Do the work on yourself – Ask Yourself “Why?”
